About Barbara AI

Barbara AI began with a simple question: what would a conversation feel like if the other side always had time for it? The answer became a small cast of invented characters, each written with a distinct voice, a believable history and a way of speaking that stays recognisable from one evening to the next.

How the cast is written

Every companion starts as a page of notes — where they grew up, what they read, how they react when a conversation turns quiet. Only then is a portrait commissioned in an editorial fashion style, deliberately restrained and tasteful. Nothing on Barbara AI depicts a real person, and nothing is presented as anything other than fiction.

What we care about

Warmth without pressure, imagination without excess, and copy that treats an adult reader as an adult. Barbara AI is a place for conversation, storytelling and daily company — nothing more complicated than that.
